Answer: No, the Research Group is open to the entire academic community, including students, alumni, and faculty from all disciplines, even from other universities.

Answer: The only requirements are the desire and commitment to participate in the various activities proposed by the Research Group.

3. Question: How can I join the research group?

Answer: To join the research group, please send an email to luisortiz@javeriana.edu.co with your curriculum vitae, a letter of interest explaining your research areas and how you believe you can contribute to the group. You can also fill out the registration form on our website.

4. Question: How often are the Research Group meetings, and at what time?

Answer: Generally, meetings are held every two weeks on Tuesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Answer: Our group focuses on information science, intersecting with society and culture. We conduct research on data management, information ethics, information literacy, emerging technologies, and the sociocultural impact of information, among others.

Answer: No, the Research Group, while being an academic exercise, is extracurricular, and membership is voluntary.

Answer: Apart from gaining practical experience in conducting research, you can become an author of scientific articles, participate in national and international academic events, engage with the community, and build new relationships. It strengthens your researcher profile through dissemination via various academic and social media platforms. You may also complete your thesis as a result of the research conducted, and if your goal includes teaching, it provides additional tools for optimal development in that field.

Answer: There is no minimum or maximum time required to stay in the Research Group; ultimately, this depends on your commitment to the group, which is determined by your love or passion for the academic subjects and the continuous learning process. We aim for new members to stay at least for one academic period.

Answer: The purpose of the meetings is to report on the progress of various projects, to listen to new proposals, analyze potential solutions, and address administrative matters. Each meeting includes a record where commitments and advances are documented. Meetings can be in-person, virtual, or hybrid.
